Europäische Defigurationen. A sculptural performance, Max Joseph-Platz, Munich, June 2016

The agents of our multi-part project Die Irrenden- Europäische Defigurationen, tohubassbuuh and sleepy hollows are fragmented parts and monumentalised bodies of political and economic leaders, as well as historical resistance fighters and psychological archetypes.

Larger-than-life heads modelled on the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the President of the European Central Bank Mario Draghi and Dutty Bouckman, a pioneer of the Haitian Revolution of 1791, and the two archetypal figures small A and WE Europe move undirected in space, collide with each other, clash with the architecture and the audience and thus enter into contradiction with our imaginations and conventions.

After the first three stops in 2014 at the Wiener Festwochen/into the city, 2013/2015 at the Berliner Herbstsalon/Maxim Gorki Theater and 2014 at the German Bundestag in Berlin, we have now made a stop in Munich, expanding the set and updating the text.
