Falling stock prices, bank failures and the threat of a recession scenario induce states and governments worldwide to hurry and tie up emergency plans to restore the confidence of the market participants. This situation that uncovers gaps and discontinuities, gives us the opportunity to gain insight into a social „reality“ that doesn´t usually enter our consciousness. reality state contrasts the genre of the bank robber movie with the current situation at the financial markets. In a fictional documentary video and a mixed-media installation we explore the question how to transform the virtual outsourced operations and cash flows into tangible physical phenomena. The video shows the invasion of a sketchy staged bank branch framed by theoretical reflections from Peter Grottian and Joseph Vogl.
